Superstar Nora Aunor on Thursday slammed Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao, saying the Filipino ring icon is in not in the right position to promote his personal opinion and beliefs.
According to the actress, Pacquiao shouldn't nag like a woman and suggested that he hide his bias.
"Hindi naman tama kasi nasa gobyerno siya 'di ba?" Aunor said, "Kung ano ang personal na opinyon niya, itago na lang niya. Huwag na siyang magdadaldal para siyang babae."
The Superstar added that the boxer had no business commenting on the lives of others anyway and not too subtly pointed out sins she thinks are worse than homosexuality.
"Wala siyang pakialam dun, e masama na nga kung sugarol ka, babaero ka—mas masama 'yun 'di ba?" she said.
Pacquiao, who is running for senator, received wide criticism for unfavorably comparing homosexuals to animals, with people pointing out that, contrary to what he believes, homosexual behavior occurs in nature. When he turned to the Bible for defense, others couldn't help but point out that he broke a few rules in the book himself.
He has since apologized for his choice of words, but added that he merely wants to live according to the word of God.
Aunor said that his apology doesn't change the fact that he said it and meant it, "Wala na actually, hindi na dapat kasi andun na e. Humingi man siya ng tawad, wala na rin, mayabang talaga siya."
She said she is also expressing suppressed resentment over her previous two encounters with Pacquiao at his house in Los Angeles. The boxer purportedly snubbed her on both occasions.
"Ni hindi kami nilingon, hindi kami tiningnan, ni hindi man lang tumayo na ‘Oy kumusta kayo?’ Wala, pinabayaan kami. Maghapon kami nandun."
The actress said that she is in favor of marriage equality, explaining that it was pointless to go about hiding things that are already in plain sight.
